Betty A Graham's Obituary
Betty Ann Graham of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 92.
Betty was born July 21, 1923 to William J. and Greta C. Barnes in Decatur, Illinois
Betty is survived by her sons, Robert W and wife, Pauline and Gary A and wife Gay all of Port Charlotte, Florida. Grandsons: James (Gretchen), Kyle (Dana), Anthony (Kelly), and Brian (Christina) Graham. Granddaughters: Carrie (Brian) Shelton and Candice (Darrell) Egle. Great-Grandsons; Cody and Chance Shelton, Jackson Egle and Kameron, Dylan, Timothy, Jacob, Ty, Brooks, Drew, and Jase Graham. Great-granddaughters; Whitney, Felicity & Selena Shelton, Alyssa & Kylee Graham, Jamie Mahaffey & Cassidy & Ella Egle. Brother, Joseph Barnes of Decatur, Illinois and sister-in-law, Fumiko Barnes of Belleview, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty and graduated from German Deaconess Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was a RN and a homemaker. She loved playing golf, bridge and tennis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70+ years, Charles Joseph Graham (November 26, 2015), 2 brothers, Robert and William, Jr. Barnes along with her brother and sister in law, Harold and Sarah Fenton.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum, PO Box 1992, Savannah, GA 31402 (Charles was in the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division during WWII and was a POW for 7 months).
Inurnment services to celebrate Betty and Charles life will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, August 19, 2016 in Star Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery, 2091 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, Illinois 62526.
