Betty Ann Kinsler's Obituary
Betty Ann Kinsler, 97, of Naperville formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 2, 2024. Betty was born on March 22, 1927, in Decatur to Charles Deister and Ann (nee Dugan).
Loving mother of Debbie (Russ) Bryan and Diane Kinsler. Beloved grandmother of Kevin (Gina) Garren, granddaughter in law Katie Bryan, and Jason (Brie) Bryan. Adored great grandmother of Taylor Bryan, Cooper Bryan, Derek Bryan, Trey Bryan, Kellen Garren, and Caleb Garren.
Betty was preceded in passing by her parents, husband of 23 years William “Bill” Kinsler, daughter Connie Brown, and grandson Nick Bryan.
Betty grew up in Decatur, IL, and attended Steven Decatur before switching to St. Theresa High School. Betty worked for the Wabash Railroad before meeting the love of her life Bill at work. The two were married on June 27, 1948, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Decatur. Betty and Bill began a family and lived in Decatur for most of their lives.
Betty loved to play bridge with anyone who would play with her. She was also a accomplished seamstress and made many of her girls clothes including dresses for Homecoming and other special events. Betty enjoyed traveling, especially the trips she took with Debbie to Florida. In her free time Betty read books voraciously, her taste in books ran to autobiographies and fiction.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 24, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
