Betty Ann Scott's Obituary
Betty Ann Scott, 86, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on August 12, 1930 in Decatur the daughter of Alphonse C. and Mildred F. (Daly) Niesman. She retired from Bunn Capital in Springfield but her greatest pride is that of being a Homemaker. She married Harold R. Jackson on September 1, 1952 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1973. She then married Bernard A. Scott on May 1, 1982 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2012.
Surviving are her children, Debbie Wright of Pittsfield; Patti Wheeler of Decatur; Jeanie Burtschi (Robert Hinkle) of Decatur; Andrew Jackson (Beverly) of Sterling; sister Mary Carol Kasher (Tom) of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Betty Niesman of Decatur; grandchildren, Faith Saxe(Matt), Catherine Lacey (Jeff), Seth Wheeler (Hannah), Alex Wheeler (Lindsey), Morgan Wheeler, Stephan Burtschi (Anna), Mary Beth Scott (Jared), and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, and siblings: Robert Neisman, Lucille Morton, James Niesman, and Patricia Niesman.
Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Betty’s life will be 11 AM Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Memorials are suggested to St. Teresa High School, American Cancer Society, or Catholic War Veterans.
