Betty Jean Wilson's Obituary
Decatur-Betty Jean Wilson, 80, of Decatur, passed away at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Lincoln Manor with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Betty's life will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Wilson Foursquare. Betty was born August 6, 1930 in Bethany, the daughter of Carroll and Mary (Majors) Sutton. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She lived in Gautier, Mississippi for fifteen years where she served as a recreational director at Indian Point Resort. She loved her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards at the Oxford House. She married Carl Wilson August 19, 1960 in Decatur. He preceded her in death October 12, 2006.
She leaves behind her children Sharon (Jack) Hedenberg of Decatur, David Wilson of Danville, Indiana, Carol (Lynn) Kirkwood of Denver, CO, Tim Wilson of Springfield, Karen Long of Decatur, and Gary (Brenda) Wilson of Galesburg, brothers James (Daisy) Sutton of Decatur and Hubert (Wanda) Sutton of Boody, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband Gene, daughter-in-law Sharon Wilson, brother, Bob Sutton, and sister, Florence Pritts.
