Beverly Jean Jackson's Obituary
Beverly Jean Jackson 91 of Decatur passed away on March 21, 2024, at Manor Court of Clinton. She was born July 12,1932 to Charles and Mary Daniels in Decatur, IL.
Beverly, a remarkable woman and devoted mother, faced life’s challenges with unwavering grace and bravery. After her husband Lorne’s passing 57 years ago, she took on the responsibility of raising their five rambunctious children—a task that was far from easy. Yet, Beverly’s determination and love guided her through.
She was more than a mother; she was a friend to all. Her warm heart welcomed strangers, and she delighted in sharing stories. Even as dementia began to steal fragments of her memory, Beverly continued to weave tales, preserving her legacy.
Beyond her role as a mother, Beverly was an avid golfer. She once achieved the elusive feat of a hole-in-one while playing with her grandson. Her zest for life extended to camping trips with Wink and Dolores, where laughter and adventure were abundant.
Beverly’s feistiness was legendary. Her spirit kept everyone on their toes, wondering what she’d say or do next. Now, as she joins her family in Heaven, I imagine a joyous celebration—a reunion filled with love and laughter. And perhaps, with her characteristic spitfire attitude, Beverly is regaling God and the angels with her stories, leaving an indelible mark on eternity.
Beverly is survived by her children, Rebecca Jackson (Peoria, IL), Jackie (Larry) McMillan (Travelers Rest, SC), Larry Jackson (Lake Havasu City, AZ), Garry (Nancy) Jackson (Decatur, IL), and David (Patricia) Jackson (Brooksville, FL); half-brothers, Kevin Daniels and Phillip Daniels; grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Jaime, Kimberly, Amanda, Lorne, Erin, Audra, Danny, Josh, Kris, and; 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lorne Dwaine Jackson, her brothers, Richard Daniels, Frank Daniels and Rollen Daniels and daughter in-law Patricia Jackson and son in-law Larry McMillan.
