Beverly Ann Lanter's Obituary
Decatur- Beverly Ann Lanter, 87, of Decatur, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Beverly was born September 18, 1926 in Macon County the daughter of Edward E. and Ada E. (Morris) Oakes. She was previously employed as a caregiver for many years and worked part time at the Singer Store in downtown Decatur. She was a member of the Church of the Brethern in Decatur and the Domino Club in Forsyth. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, and jigsaw puzzles. She married Curtis W. Lanter on June 15, 1946. He preceded her in death February 24, 2012.
She leaves behind her sons Donald (Beverly J) Lanter of Assumption and Danny (Karen) Lanter of Moweaqua, brother Robert Oakes of Maroa, grandchildren Dawn (Melvin) Adrian, Bradley (Alison) Lanter, Crystal (Matt) Sewell, Lisa (Gary) Cooper, Sarah (Aaron) Rosa, and Jennifer (Pablo) Roche, thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband Curtis, and brother Donald Oakes.
A service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Church of the Brethern.
