Beverly Stroud's Obituary
Beverly Stroud, 78, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in her home in Decatur with her family at her bedside.
Beverly was born on September 29, 1935 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Lawson and Ruth (Kendall) Albritton. She married Clifford on June 28, 1953 and they celebrated 61 years together this past June. Throughout her years, Beverly worked as a beautician, as a department supervisor at PA Bergner Company, and for the U.S. Government. However, Beverly was most proud of her role as a homemaker, and community volunteer.
Surviving are her husband Clifford Stroud; sons, Jim Stroud (Mellisa) of Decatur; Jack Stroud (Yvonne) of Decatur; grandchildren, Ali Hawkins, Nick Stroud, Zack Stroud, Melissa Jackson (Bobby), Sara Lowe (Tony), and Tristen Stroud (Devon); special family, Larry and Phyllis Atwood, Norman Jewsbury, and Jim Dick.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Special thanks to the loving family friends, Debbie Helm Weaver, and Debbie Wolverton Havener, for the loving end of life care and family support they provided. Very special thanks to dear friend “Ronnie” and a great appreciation to DMH Hospice and DMH Cancer Care for the loving care provided.
Funeral service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be 2 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to DMH Hospice or Camp Wilson Four Square Gospel Church.
