Bill D. Moore's Obituary
Bill Dale Moore, 76, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in McKinley Court Nursing Home.
Bill was born on July 24, 1939 in Shelbyville, IL the son of Floyd and Mildred Mae (Burk) Moore. He was a retired truck driver from Preston 151 Trucking and was a member of Teamsters Local 279. He loved going to St. Louis Cardinal ball games and was a shuffle board champion. He married Eleanor Knittle on December 31, 1957 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1994. He later married Gwalia Bearden on August 12, 1995 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2015.
Surviving are his children, Richard Moore of Decatur; Karen Brown (Butch) of Niantic; Larry Moore (Chris) of Decatur; Timmy Moore (Susan) of Decatur; step sons, Matthew Tyner (Laura) of Indianapolis, IN; Michael Tyner (Jill) of O’Fallon, MO; brother, Frank Moore of Decatur; grandchildren, Nicole Ruffner (Jay); Ashley Moore; Brittany Moore; Ryan Moore; Brandon Moore (Annie); Tessa Moore (Jacob); Bradley Moore (Anna); Shane Telfer (Melisa); Dennis “Bubba” Telfer; Jillian Mendenhall; Chad Moore (Adrienne) great-grandchildren, Ella; Emelia; Ellie Mae; Elijah; Addisyn; Ethan; Sierra; Miranda; Aaron; Breanna; Bryson; Lilly; Kelsey; Tyler; Madisyn step-grandchildren, Clayton Tyner (Ashley); Courtney Hobein (Dan); Matt Tyner Jr.; Lindsey Dempsey (Ryan) and step-great-grandchild Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Eleanor and Gwalia; one daughter, Penny Telfer; two brothers, Everett Moore and Don Moore; two sisters Opal Moore and Mary England-Bond; step-daughter, Gwalia Morison; one grandson, Josh; and step-grandchildren Destiny, James and Eden.
Family would like to give special thanks to McKinley Court for all of their loving care, especially Teresa and Anthonique. Also, the family would like to thank Janet and Susie Moore for all their support.
Funeral services to celebrate Bill’s life will be 10 AM Monday, October 19, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery- Niantic. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
