Billy was a good buddy, I was shocked to see he passed. He was my best man while in the Air Force at Offutt. We always got in touch every year. I guess I talked with him in January and he told me he had cancer, but thought he was going to beat it. I had a birthday the 24th and Iidn't hear from him which is odd as he was always prompt wishing me happy birthday. I will miss you Billy! I know I will probably see him heaven. Rest in peace

Rick, this is Bob Pittenger. I just saw (Thursday 2/9) that Bill has passed. Kay and I are saddened to learn of Bill's passing. We are in Biloxi and will be unable to attend services. I wanted to you to know that our thoughts are with you, as well as Bill's daughters. We are so disappointed that we are so far away and cannot get back to pay our respects in person. Bill has always meant a lot to the Pittenger family and we will certainly miss seeing him at breakfast. I hope you find comfort in knowing that he has now received his reward and is reunited with Getie, Tink and all of his loved-ones.
Oh Bill….I can’t even begin to imagine summers without you! Happy hour will never be the same. Ken and I were truly blessed to have you in our lives’. From the moment we met you, you made us feel like family. I don’t remember a time you didn’t have a smile on your face or a joke ready to be told. I will always treasure our talks about Scripture and will never forget the many conversations about everything else! Like so many others, there will a void in my heart. Love you!
My memory of uncle Bill was accually the last time I seen him. It was late at night mom went back to grandma's house and my dad, Rick and I went to Billy's bar across the street and he was the bartender. He had me and my dad practically rolling on the floor laughing snot running out our noses and tears in our eyes. He was telling some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard. Rick was also busting a gut even though he's probably heard them a hundred times. Then as we were leaving he said to me " Damm Melanie if ide known you were this much fun I would if invited you over more often" then I gave him a good night hug and we left. He defiantly had a way with words. I already miss him so much. I know he's ok and he's up there telling everyone the FeeFee joke. May you RIP uncle Bill.
Billy was my best friend my hero my brother.. if there's anything good about me today it's because he taught me values and integrity... He was taken from our lives too quickly but he knew we loved him... We said it every day without embarrassment.. theres a hole in my heart that will never be filled.. rest in peace brother.. love you

Not only was he the best uncle ever, he was the man that my hero looked up to. He truly was larger than life and I don't know a kinder, more sincere soul. There was nothing he wouldn't do to help out someone in need. I love you forever, Uncle Bill. Life will never be the same. I'm so lucky to be named after such an incredible man.
