Billy H. Hurst's Obituary
Billy H. Hurst, 71, of Decatur passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in his home.
Billy was born on February 14, 1943 in Weleetka, OK the son of Otho and Grace (Frasier) Hurst. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and retired from PPG after 39 years of service. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was an avid crappie fisherman and hunter. He married Leota Richards on February 17, 1968 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Leota; son, Billy E. Hurst (Angela) of Clinton; grandchildren, Kailey Hurst and Jerrod Hurst of Clinton; sister, Fleeda Hall of Dallas, TX; brothers-in-law, George Krohn (Lynn) of Mt. Zion; John Krohn (Mary) of Bethany; nieces, Karen Morin (Rudy) and Connie Hill of Dallas, TX; and nephew, Brian Hall (Donna) of Dallas, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank St. John’s Hospice especially Carolyn and the family would also like to thank Pastor Dean Cripe for all their care.
Funeral service to celebrate Billy’s life will be 10 AM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with pastors, Steve DeVore and Dean Cripe officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested St. John’s Hospice or Children’s Miracle Network.
