BILLY M CONYER's Obituary
Decatur-Billy M. Conyer, 87, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his loving wife by his side.
Billy was born May 10, 1926, in Decatur, the son of Murry and Oda Belle (Swank) Conyer. He proudly served his country in US Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from Decatur High Class of 1944. He received his bachelor’s degree from Millikin University in 1950. He was previously employed as a CPA with Illinois Power retiring after forty-four years of service. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, life member of AICPA, TKE Fraternity where he served as historian, National Honor Society, The Royal Arcanum, and Boy Scouts of America where he was a Life Scout and Assistant Scout Master. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He married Pauline Abbott April 30, 1971.
Billy leaves behind his beloved wife Pauline, son Mark Conyer and wife Daniehl of Chatham, and grandchildren Brittany Ann, Corey, Liberty, Caitlin, Bryce, Logan, and Gavin.
Billy was reunited in Heaven with his parents and son David.
Services to celebrate Billy’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Macon County Honor Guard.
