Bob E. Baum's Obituary
Decatur-Robert E. “Baumer” Baum, 78, of Decatur, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 in his home.
Bob was born June 26, 1936 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Paul and Helen (Samson) Baum. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army. He was previously employed as an electrician with Caterpillar retiring after thirty-two years of service. Bob was a member of UAW Local #51. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, seeing his friends in the Cardiac Cath Lab at DMH, the wait staff at Gabby’s, and listening to 98.1 on the radio.
Bob leaves behind his daughter Genanne Baum, grandchildren Skylar Karakachos and Melanie Baum, and sisters Evelyn Bloomfield of Nevada and Thelma Horton of Virginia.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and son Kelley Baum.
Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Easter Seals.
