Bobby Eugene Ewing Sr.'s Obituary
Bobby E. Ewing Sr., 76, passed away on July 19, 2011 with his family at his side.
Bobby was born March 4, 1935 to John Ewing and Mary Kendall Patterson raised by James and Mary Patterson. Bobby was one of 15 children one brother Donald preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita Crum; his 3 children, Tricia Doolin (Steven Sr.), Barbara Hill (Brett), and Bobby E. Ewing Jr. (Mary Lou); grandchildren, Steven E. Doolin Jr. (Erin), Courtney LeHew (Travis) Jeremy Proctor, Beka Ewing, Jakob Ewing, step-grandson, Joshua Moomey (Diana); great-grandson, Jaxon LeHew; two step-great-granddaughters, three step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Betty Gober, Shirley Kahler, Mary Lou Ahrens (Melvin), Lois Billings (Henry), Susan Park (Terry), Loretta Ambrose (Raymond), Sandy Miller, Pamela Danner, brothers, James Patterson Jr., Joseph Patterson (Susan), Paul Patterson (Carol), David Patterson (Becky), Gary Patterson (Linda), many nieces, nephews, Galilee Baptist Church family and friends at Gabby's Restaurant.
Bobby worked 35 years for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Bobby and his wife have been taking care of Kaydon-Wakefield Apartments for 10 years and Columbus Apartments for the last year and a half. He served his country in the 2nd Armored Calvary in the US Army in Germany from 1957-1959.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, step-great-great-grandson, son-in-law, Harold Proctor, and three nieces.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the extended care floor, Respiratory Care Staff, Pastoral Care at St. Mary's Hospital, as well as Dr. Brian Miller, Dr. Kola, Dr. Atluri, Dr. Hasnain, and Dr. Collins following Bobby through twenty years of Care for his heart condition.
Funeral service celebrating Bobby's life will be 10 am Friday, July 22, 2011 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Thursday the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard and conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony.
