Bonnie Kay Seger's Obituary
Decatur-Bonnie Kay Hamilton Seger (Axline) 69, of Sun City Center, Florida formerly of Decatur, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 04, 2015 in her home.
Bonnie was born on February 3, 1946 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lawrence Dale and Mary Elizabeth (Sutter) Hamilton and lived in Lovington until 1966. She graduated from Lovington Illinois High School, Class of 1964. She attended the Decatur School of Practical Nursing and graduated in 1965. After graduation, she began a career as a LPN at St. Mary’s Hospital. She retired in 2003. After retiring she enjoyed time with family and friends. Bonnie enjoyed keeping in touch with old friends and family, taking care of people, crocheting, watching Law and Order & Bay News Nine, and collecting dolls. On October 23, 1966 she married Dean Seger and enjoyed many years together enjoying their two children Rebecca and Jeffrey. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2007. She moved to Florida in 2011, where she met Richard Axline to whom she celebrated her commitment on August 10, 2013.
Bonnie leaves behind her son Jeffrey Seger and spouse Jenny, daughter Rebecca Jane Seger, sister Linda and Edward Krska, brother James and Diana Hamilton, companion Richard Axline, step-daughter Erin Cockley and spouse Chris, and Lauren Mainini, and will be missed by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Barbara Clark.
Services to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
