Decatur-Bonnie M. Sweitzer, 80, of Decatur, passed away 1:30 am Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
Services to celebrate Bonnie's life will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 18, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Decatur. Pastor Robert Bruer will be officiating services. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 12 noon ' 1:00 pm on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Concordia Lutheran Church. Bonnie was born on February 5, 1930 in Decatur the daughter of Charles and Opal (Roderick) Schultz. Bonnie was a graduate of Decatur High School. Bonnie and Clyde Sweitzer married on June 26, 1949 at the First Lutheran Church in Decatur. Bonnie retired from K-Mart in 1993 after 17 years of service. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Bonnie enjoyed camping with her husband.
Bonnie leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of close to 61 years Clyde Sweitzer of Decatur, her son Randy (wife-Paula) Sweitzer of Ekron, KY, her daughter Pamela (husband ' Dale) Howard of Decatur, her brothers Barney (wife ' Joan) Schultz of Florida, and Bill (wife ' Jeannine) Schultz of Nevada, her three grandchildren Deric Sweitzer of Green Valley, IL and Danny Sweitzer of California, Nakia Sparr of Cecila, KY and seven great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Vanessa Sweitzer.
