Brian Christopher Rhoades' Obituary
Brian Christopher Rhoades, 41, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence.
Brian was born November 9, 1977, the son of William III and Leslie Swearingen Rhoades.
Surviving are his parents, a brother, Brady (Emily) Rhoades of Decatur; three nieces, Ella, Linny, and Anna; and a nephew, Brendan Benton. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; a sister, Laura Rhoades, and her son, Caden Michael.
Brian was a member at Sunnyside Road Church of Christ. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1997. He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a big fan of The Ultimate Warrior. He also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed playing video games, golfing, fishing, and hunting. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his nieces and nephew.
Per Brian’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Friday, January 25, 2019 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur. Greg Swango, minister, will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Child First Center of Decatur, Illinois.
