Carl L. Kirchhoff's Obituary
Decatur-Carl Leroy Kirchhoff, 73, of Decatur, passed away at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in his home with his family by his side.
Carl was born on October 16, 1939 in Altamont, IL the son of Albert and Julia Kirchhoff. He was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church in Altamont on October 22, 1939 and was confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altamont on March 29, 1953. He married Nancy Davis of Altamont in Bethlehem Lutheran Church on June 30, 1961. He was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, and worked for Macon Resources in Decatur, and most recently Baldwin Shuttle.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; daughters, Debbie Stafford (Joel) of Decatur; Cindy Kirchhoff of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Michael Stafford (Juliette), Nicholas Stafford, Emily Knotts, and Travis Knotts; 2 great-grandchildren, Michael Stafford Jr. and Lillian Stafford; special friends, Linder and Marilyn Wendlings; mother-in-law, Fern Davis of Decatur; sisters-in-law, Sharon Gores (Larry) of Altamont; Tina Pressley of Oreana; brothers-in-law, Alf Davis (Nancy) of Altamont; and Bud Davis(Brenda) of Auburn, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, Gertrude Winter, Charlaine Smith, Leone Kirchhoff, Marian Berg, Lorraine Wolff, and Alice Milliville; and 1 brother, Richard Kirchhoff.
Services to celebrate Carl's Life will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Moundford Free Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Coates and Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 Friday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Moundford Free Methodist Church Food Pantry.
