Carol E. Haenny's Obituary
Carol E. Haenny, 81, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charleston.
Carol was born July 23, 1937, in Decatur, the daughter of Richard and Helen Tilbury Personette. She married William “Bill” Haenny on October 26, 1984. He survives.
Also surviving are their children; David (Judy) Keck of Macon; John (Kim) Keck of Decatur; Rebecca (Charles Miller) Keck of Crosby, Texas; Cathy (Kevin Drewel) Butler; Larry (Kristi) Keck of Charleston; two step-daughters, Tanya (Pip Ya) Haenny of Urbana and Melissa Frye of Decatur; 25 grandchildren; Zachary, Tyler, Julie, Laura, Amy, Brandy, Brian, Tiffany, Debra, James, Jonathon, Tasha, Adam, Clarissa, Jesse, Casey, Colton, Nikki, Danni, Josh, Sam, Alexis, Emma, Zakary, and Everett; numerous great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, James Kutrules of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jack Personette of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; and a half-sister, Margie Personette She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Elmer and Chris Keck; a sister, Louise Personette; and a son-in-law, Timothy Butler.
Carol was a licensed practical nurse for over 40 years at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Decatur Quilters Guild and Illinois Master Gardeners. She also attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Decatur. Carol loved photography and gardening.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Graceland-Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
