Carol Jean Steward's Obituary
Carol Jean Steward, 61, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully at her residence.
Carol was born March 8, 1957 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Louis W. and Ruby (White) Steward.
Carol was a certified nurse’s aide. She enjoyed helping others who were in need. During her leisure time she enjoyed going to the Par-A-dice Riverboat Casino and fishing for relaxation. She held the school record for throwing the softball for distance.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her life partner, Parthenia Hall; son, Jason Steward of Decatur, IL; brother, Mitchell Steward of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Joan Steward of Tampa, FL, Sheila Steward of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Katerria, Zachary, Kimbre, Paige, Jason Steward, JR.; great grandchildren, Kayden, Kyliegh, A.J., Kyrie; honorary children, Sabrina Hall, Gary “Rusty” Hall, Tiffiany (Elijah) Hayes; honorary grandchildren, Gary Hall, Kashanna Hayes, Dennis Coles Jr, Isaiah Hayes, Phillip Hall, Jeremiah Hayes, Amiyah M., honorary sister, Patricia Hall, honorary brothers, Jerome Hall and David Hall, nieces and nephews, Tikia (Ardis) Thompson, Dean Steward Sr., Kimberly (Larry) Grigg, Timothy Bass, Shania Steward; best friend, Ida Brown and special friend, Larry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Fredrick Steward.
Funeral Service will be held at noon, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Crestview Worship Center, Forward in Faith Ministries., 4415 N. Water St., Decatur, IL. Visitation will be at the church from 10 – noon prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to give thanks to DMH, DMH Hospice Memorial Medical Center, Springfield 6th floor ICU, VIBRA and all of the Dr’s who helped take care of Carol.
