Carol S Tuschhoff's Obituary
Carol S. Tuschhoff, 86 was born Easter Sunday April 4th , 1926 in Woodhull, Illinois during a blizzard. She passed away Monday October 29, 2012 at 12:25 am.
Honoring Carol’s wishes: Cremation rites were performed. A private family service will be held at a later date. Until then, she rests on the fireplace mantel in their favorite room.

She was the eldest of 2 girls born to Reverend Charles and Elva (Bach) Smith. Sister Ann followed 5 years later.
Carol attended Illinois Wesleyan University. There she met the love of her life: John (Jack) V. Tuschhoff
Carol and Jack were married August 29th, 1948 in Princeville, Illinois. The ceremony was presided over by both of their fathers. The Reverend's Smith and Tuschhoff. Carol and Jack said that is one of the reasons their marriage was forever!!
Carol and Jack were blessed with 2 loving sons: Bryan Conrad arrived January 26, 1957; Craig Vincent arrived March 29, 1958.
Carol went on to Illinois State University where she received her Master’s Degree.
Early in her career, CST was the voice of "Betty Lane" at WSOY.
Mrs. T taught for over 20 years at Mound Middle School as a Reading Specialist. She loved and treasured the relationships she made there!
CST was highly committed and very involved in the betterment of Decatur for over 60 years. She was a member of: Grace United Methodist Church, AAUW, Phi Delta Kappa (PDK), Macon County Conservation District, Decatur Housing Authority, CHELP, YMCA, Lady Landowners, Civic Center Board, Downtown business council, PTA (when the boys were young), Theater 7, and Juvae Jazz Society. She wrote numerous articles for the Herald and Review Newspaper; most notably "Prairie Talk". Thank you, Bob Fallstrom! Later on, she loved to deliver "Meals on Wheels" and attend the Retired Mound Teachers Luncheons. Carol was a faithful client of the Main Place Hair Salon. Carol and her "Big Sweetie" were (are) loyal patrons of Lock Stock and Barrel (LSB) for years and years. She and Jack were fierce supporters of the Central Illinois Jazz Society. Love That Dixieland Jazz!!!!
Carol is survived by her husband Jack, sons: Bryan (Cathy) Tuschhoff of Oceanside, CA. Craig (Kerry) Tuschhoff of Cyprus, CA. Grandchildren: Hayley, Colin, and Chelia. Sister: Ann Donnell of North Carolina. Numerous loving relatives from both families. Special caregiver: Lisa May
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol’s family cannot express enough THANKS to Dr. Baumberger, Dr. Smith, Mary Coventry, Jane Piraino, their staff, and all the staff at Aspen Ridge Care Centre for their loving care.
