Carol Louise Van Houdnos' Obituary
Decatur-Carol Louise Van Houdnos, 80, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Carol was born November 8, 1935, in Thomasboro, Illinois, the daughter of Frederick H. and Irma P. (Michaels) Maier. She loved children and was a childcare provider for over twenty-five years. Carol was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Carol leaves behind her daughter Diane Kruse and husband Kevin, son Harry Martin Van Houdnos III, grandchildren Dylan and Tanner Kruse, brother Lewis Maier and wife Yvonne, and brother-in-law Milo Miles.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister Judith Miles.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Carol’s life will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2160 N Edward St, Decatur, with Rev. Richard Weltin, Celebrant. Private family burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Thomasboro. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
