Carolyn A. Bahr's Obituary
Decatur-Carolyn A. Bahr, 95, of Decatur, passed away at 3:17 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Tanglewood Village located at 1293 S. 34th St. Decatur. Private family interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or the Chaddock Children's Foundation in Quincy. Carolyn was born April 4, 1915 in Macon County the daughter of R. Homer and Mayme (Walker) Andrews. She was previously employed with the Macon County Treasurers Office and with the Johnson Mortgage Company. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church the DAR, and the Alpha Chi Beta Sorority. She was a volunteer at the Economy Shop for twenty-nine years. Carolyn loved her family very much. She married Ward A. Wakefield September 30, 1959. He preceded her in death January 14, 1962. She then married Charles F. Bahr September 22, 1966. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1997.
She leaves behind her step-daughters; Barbara Shassetz of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Judith Sundberg and husband Walter of Genoa, Illinois, and Penne Sample of Kokomo, Indiana, nine step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, and sisters; Marguerite McDaniel of Tuscola and Barbara Jostes and husband Richard of Moweaqua.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, husbands, and sisters; Virginia Bohlen and Dorothy Tichenor Bohlen.
