Carolyn Ann Coleman's Obituary
Carolyn A. Coleman, 56, of Decatur, went home to be with her Lord on June 13, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn was born on June 11, 1965 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the union of Jessie Coleman, Jr and Ethel Ray (Cobb). Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her 4 children: Jasmine Haynes, Achille Foster, Teresa Coleman, Sercye Haynes; 1 grandchild: Yasmeena; her mother: Ethel Ray; her siblings: Edward Coleman, Omar Frazier, Tim Davis, Loretta Jackson, Mecah Ray, Kathy Davis, Jessica Davis, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, , and her 2 best friends: Gwendolyn Vorties and Mary Kelly.
Carolyn loved to laugh and to make others laugh. She had a strong, joyful, and fun presence that would fill any room. Carolyn was often found hosting parties at her home where they played spades, sang Karaoke, ate good food and made unforgettable new memories. She was also an amazing singer and teacher. She took advantage of every teachable moment - always looking for a way to inspire others.
Traveling was also a joy - she's visited places like Hawaii, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Carolyn enjoyed brainstorming ways to make money. She became co- owner of Carolyn Mega slots here in Decatur ill. She Also dreamt of owning a big, beautiful home ...that dream was traded for a mansion in the sky and streets made of gold!
Carolyn’s foundation was built on having faith in God and that one day she would see him.
Homegoing services to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, Decatur. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday (June 19, 2021) at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, Decatur. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL at a later date.
