Carolyn L. Winfield's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved, Carolyn L Winfield on January 4th 2024 at Weiss Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Carolyn is the daughter of Perine Williams and Leo Williams who both preceded her in death. Carolyn left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Carolyn's journey took her from the heart of the South where she attended UAC and went on to graduate nursing school before her career as an LPN nurse. It was in Conway, Arkansas were she met her Ex-husband, they married and had three beautiful children, Eric, Matthew and her daughter, Kimberly who preceded her in death.
Carolyn aspired in her heart to become an advocate in hospital procedure concerning patients with debilitating heart conditions, she also was in the process of publishing her memoir which touched on hospital procedures and patient care. Her sons are dedicated to completing her work. Carolyn spent her final moments surrounded by the love of her family; surviving children, Eric and Matthew and the constant and loving prayers and encouragement from her surviving bevy of siblings and family members which included her last suvivng aunt Esterlene Harper of Decatur Il.
Carolyn dedicated many years to caring for the elderly, embodying the qualities of compassion, care, and thoughtful consideration. Her work touched the lives of countless individuals, and her commitment to the well-being of others reflected her deep-seated values. Carolyn's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived by the principles of godliness, faithfulness and forgiveness.
Despite facing the profound sorrow of losing her daughter Kimberly in 2011, Carolyn remained a pillar of strength and resilience. Her family offered support and shared in the joys and challenges of her life. Carolyn's commitment to family, duty, and doing what is right left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Carolyn, her sweet and humble spirit will never be forgotten. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but for the love she showered upon her family, the compassion she extended to others, and the grace with which she navigated life's journey.
May she rest in eternal peace, having faced her cancer battle with the same courage and strength that defined her remarkable life.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held on January 22,2024 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home from 10-11:00 am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am also at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
