Carrol Sperry's Obituary
Carrol Sperry, 78, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, peacefully at home.
Carrol was born on October 28, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois. The son of George and Dorothy Sperry. He married Donna Bledsoe on January 10, 1968. They were married for 57 years.
Carrol leaves behind his wife, Donna Sperry of Decatur, IL; son, Kent Sperry (spouse Christina Sperry) of Mt. Zion, IL; daughter, Kara Nihiser (spouse Shannon Nihiser) of Decatur, IL; five grandkids and eight great-grandkids. Carrol also leaves two sisters, Dora Carter of Decatur, IL, and Norma Weisser of Morton, IL,
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers, two brothers-in-law, and mother and father-in-law.
Carrol was a United States Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He worked at A.E. Staley’s for 24 years and Grohne Concrete for 16 years. He enjoyed working on cars; racing; spending time with family; and loved being the family prankster.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday (10-03-2025) at Passion Community Church Decatur, IL, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.
