Carroll Robert "Bob" Webb's Obituary
Carroll Robert “Bob” Webb passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, in Decatur, IL. The family will receive friends for visitation between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on December 29 at Graceland-Fairlawn Cemetery, 2091 N. Oakland, Decatur, IL. A private family ceremony to celebrate his life will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to Rhodes France Scout Reservation, Greater St. Louis Area Council, BSA, 262 W. Prairie Ave. Decatur, IL or the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center, 2820 E. Parkway Drive, Decatur, IL.
Bob worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and loved ones. He started on the factory floor of Caterpillar; and, over his 40+ year career, he became Caterpillar’s first welding engineer and worked his way up through the ranks to senior management. His work with Caterpillar took him all over the world throughout his career. He was a pilot and a member of Central Christian Church and the American Welding Society. He had a lifelong interest in the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout, a scoutmaster, a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, and spent countless hours volunteering at Rhodes France Scout Reservation in Pana, IL.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Anne (Hawkins); daughter, Christina Marie Branham; sons Timothy Robert Webb and Jonathan Robert (Mollie) Webb; sisters Rebecca Johnston, Sarah (Craig) Hammond, Amy Mattingly; and grandchildren, Ethan Robert and Tyler Lucas Branham, Stella Cole Webb, Keller Bond Webb, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Bond Webb and Wanda Lee (Beck) Webb; sister Susan Hartstirn; and grandson, Cole Thomas Webb.
