Catherine Allison's Obituary
Decatur-At 3:23 am Saturday, February 25, 2012 the angels came and escorted Catherine E. Allison into the waiting arms of Jesus. She was surrounded by her loving family when she took her heavenly flight home.
A service to celebrate the life of Catherine will be held at 11 am Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service. Interment will be at the Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown, IL. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Central United Methodist Church of Decatur, IL.
Catherine Ellen Allison was born February 16, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA. She was the daughter of Harvey William and Julia France (Carr) Hord. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant for many years and also a member of Central United Methodist Church of Decatur, IL for over 30 years. Catherine was active in her church as a Greeter and she was also head of the church's Prayer Chain for many years. If anyone was in need of prayer, Catherine was among the first in her church to bring their names and needs before the throne of God. Catherine's faith and steadfastness has been an inspiration to those who knew her but most importantly, to her beloved family. Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. The greatest love in her life was for her God and for her family.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Leann Czyzewski of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Amanda, Tara, and Kerianne of New Orleans, LA; brothers, James (Alicia) Hord of Decatur, IL; Robert (Delored) Hord of Oakley, IL; and Donald Hord of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Nancy (Ronald) Kornewald of Mt. Zion, IL; several very special nieces and nephews and her beloved friends, Leta and Bruce Irons of Decatur, IL.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Hord and a granddaughter, Katie, who was Catherine's namesake.
The family wishes to express their heart-felt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit and the nurses and staff of 5100 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
