DECATUR- Catherine A. Koslofski, 84, of Decatur passed away at 11:55 am Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in McKinley Court.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, December 21, 2009 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 on Sunday evening and one hour prior to the service at the church. Vigil Prayer services will be at 4:30 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association. Catherine was born on April 28, 1925 in rural Macon County, IL, a daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth (Witt) Ryan. She was a secretary at Mississippi Valley Steel for many years. Catherine had a strong faith and was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She married the love of her life, Paul William Koslofski, on October 17, 1946 in Decatur. They celebrated over 58 years together before he preceded her in death on November 10, 2004.
Surviving are Catherine’s brother: Leo Ryan and his wife Henrietta of Effingham, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Richard Ryan and Gerald Ryan and sisters- Sister Patricia Ryan, Margaret Ryan and Agnes Ryan.
The family greatly appreciates Catherine’s nephew, Jerry Ryan, for being a loving caregiver throughout the years.
