Charlene Rose VanVleet's Obituary
Decatur – Charlene Rose VanVleet, 63, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, in her home with her family by her side.
Charlene was born August 13, 1952 in Taylorville, the daughter of Charles Edward and Rosie Leih (Skinner) Mathes. She worked for four years as a machinist at Interstate Bakery and loved to spend her time knitting.
Surviving are her children: Robert “Bob” Larson of Bement and Rachael (Charles) Robinson of Decatur; grandson, Brian Robinson; along with many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lonnie and Charles Mathes.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Services with “Flight Home” ceremony to celebrate her life will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at the funeral home; Pastor Nick Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Harper Ferry Cemetery, Palmer, IL. Memorials may be made to Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
