Charles Ray Bennick's Obituary
Charles Ray Bennick, 84, of Decatur, passed away at 1:00 A.M. on Thursday (03-17-2022) at The Christian Village in Lincoln, IL.
Charles was born on November 9, 1937 in Steele, MO, the son of Ester Lee Bennick and Cleo Willard McLain – Maxwell. He married Alice Ruth Wagner on April 22, 1961 in St. Louis, MO.
He served in the National Guard. Charles also was owner/operator of Interchem Inc. (Paint Company). His family and his business were his life. He also loved to take naps!
Charles is survived by his wife of almost 61 years; two sons: David Bennick and wife Jennifer of Decatur, IL, and Dale Bennick of Decatur, IL.; two daughters: Diana Hunter and husband Roger of Decatur, IL, and Dottie Burris and husband Brian of Rochester, IL.; three brothers: Ken Bennick and wife Cheryl, Ron Bennick, and Mike Bennick and wife Claudette; two sisters: Jane Geist and Pat Alexander and husband Ray; nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with three on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Carol, one brother, one sister.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (03-22-2022) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home Decatur, IL, with visitation before services from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL.
