Charles Boyer's Obituary
Charles William “Bill” Boyer Jr., passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Symphony of Lincoln in Lincoln, IL.
Bill was born March 22, 1945, to Charles W. and Mary (Savage) Boyer Sr. He attended Stephen Decatur High School. Bill held many different jobs, some for a short time and others for several years. These include Brown Jug, Staley’s, Firestone, Liberty Gas Station, AW Cash Company, Boyer’s Hardware Store, Holiday Inn, and Baymont Inn.
Bill enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, going to the Paradise River Boat and bingo. He also liked being with friends and talking.
Bill and his wife Linda Bunning were married October 27, 1973, in Decatur, IL. They shared 42 wonderful years together.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda; mother-in-law, Edith Bunning; sisters, Sandra (Robert) Behnke of Rock Island, IL; Charlotte (Steve) Shehorn of Chestnut, IL; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring Bill’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Symphony of Decatur Activity Fund.
The family would like to thank the employees of Symphony of Decatur, Decatur Memorial Hospital, Vibra Hospital in Springfield, IL, and Symphony of Lincoln for the care and compassion they shown to Bill and his wife during his illness.
