Charles E. Buckley's Obituary
Charles E. Buckley, 80, of Decatur passed away at 7:43 pm Monday, February 27, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Charles' life will be 11:00A.M. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 7:00P.M., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Internment will be at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Nazarene Church.
Charles was born on May 16, 1931 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Henry and Lelah Buckley. He worked for the Wabash Railroad and the Decatur Sanitary District. Charles was a wonderful husband and a loving father and grandfather. He helped many people throughout his life and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He married Elizabeth J. Hunt in Decatur on August 28, 1949.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Buckley; son, David Buckley of Decatur; daughter, Ellen (John) Six of Decatur; brothers, Richard Buckley of Decatur, Jerry Buckley of Decatur, Jack (Pat) Buckley of Decatur; and Walter (Barb) Buckley of Mattoon, sisters, Marie (Dick) Best of Seattle, WA, and Vera Christianson of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, and two brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital and Heartland Health Care for all the wonderful care Charles received.
