Charles F. "Bud" Clark's Obituary
Decatur-Charles F. “Bud” Clark, 86, of Decatur formerly of Bethany, passed away at 5:25 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Bud was born on January 31, 1930, north of Bethany to Charles and Ethel (Majors) Clark, the ninth child of a family of ten. He graduated from Bethany High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, spending time in Germany. Bud was a member of Bethany Christian Church. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for thirty-three years, retiring as an inspector. He married Gloria (Carnduff) Blakeman on July 5, 1969. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2007.
Bud is survived by his son from a previous marriage Michael David Clark and wife Jan of Mansfield, another son Robert Blakeman and wife Bonnie of Decatur, four daughters Sheri Smith, Darla Tuttle and husband Bill, Joyce Daniels and husband Dave, and Cheryl Sneyd all of Decatur, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, one sister Joy Vaughn of Taylorville, one sister-in-law Bernadine Clark of Decatur, a host of nieces and nephews, and companion and friend Diamond Wicker of Bethany.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, six sisters, son-in-law Roy Smith, and granddaughter Alex Clark.
Bud would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Totel and the nurses and staff with DMH and Dr. Esparaz and the nurses and staff with Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
Services to celebrate Bud’s life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the March of Dimes.
