Charles Fount "Charlie" Huffman's Obituary
Lovington- Charles Fount “Charlie” Huffman, 73 of Lovington, passed away early on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013 at his home in Lovington with family at his bedside.
Charlie requested services and interment to be private. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Charlie was born on September 19, 1939 in Lovington the son of Joseph Vincent and Dorothy Alice (Howard) Huffman. Charlie served his country in the Air Force and he was a member of the American Legion Post 429 in Lovington. He was a retired laborer for Carpenters Local 159. Charlie married Donna Jean Shelton and she passed away in 1977. He later married Melba Hodges and she passed away on February 19, 2004. Charlie loved his family and was an avid dog lover. Charlie was one of the founders and proud past president of the Sparrows Unlimited of Lovington. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time at the East End in Lovington and his PBR.
Surviving are his son Charlie Huffman, step-children- Frank Prahl, Jr., Brian Prahl and Carla Erickson, Marilyn Carrell and Cheryl Prahl, grandchildren- Patricia Beery, Kalee Huffman, Alyssa Huffman, Mycah Carter, Bobby Nesbitt, Austen Huffman, Dallas Nesbitt, Dennis Nesbitt, great granddaughter- Maycie Beery and special nieces and nephew Kim Tish, Chris Hodges, Pam Anklam,Larry Hodges and Marla Kauffman.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, wife, sister Patricia Hodges and grandson- Charlie Lee Huffman II.
