Charles Emmitt "Chuck" Jolly's Obituary
Warrensburg-Charles Emmitt “Chuck” Jolly Sr., 70, of Warrensburg, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 20, 2014.
Chuck was born March 15, 1944 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Samuel and Ruby
(Wheatley) Jolly. He graduated from Illinois State University. He was a licensed professional geologist and retired president of Reynolds Drilling Corp. He was a member of Harvest Christian Center, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association, and Riverfront Camp Ground. He was an accomplished musician, avid outdoorsman, veteran of the U.S. Army, and shepherd to many. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and fun-loving Pa to his grandchildren. Chuck married Carolyn “Cari” Lehn January 24, 1970. She preceded him in death August 6, 1999. He then married Carol (Browning) Walters September 30, 2000.
Chuck leaves behind his wife Carol, children Colleen “Cody” Telfer and husband Eric, Charles Jolly Jr. and wife Mignon, and Jessica Jolly, stepchildren Trena Freeman and husband Chadd and Troy Walters and wife Maryann, grandchildren Zach, Blake, Laura, Emma, Allie, Luke, Matt, Isabella, Arabella, Connor, Timmy, and Jacob, and thirty-three nieces and nephews.
Chuck was reunited in Heaven with his parents, first wife Cari, three brothers, and two sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for all of their loving care.
Services to celebrate Chuck’s life will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Illini Cemetery in Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to New Life Pregnancy Center or Harvest Christian Center.
