Decatur-Charles Darrel Corn, 83, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services to celebrate Charles' life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 in the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Charles was born June 8, 1929 in Decatur, the son of William B. Corn and Vinaida (Skyler) Richter. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and attended Millikin University. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was previously employed as an extractor operator with ADM retiring after forty-three years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and avid bowler, golfer, and pool player.
He leaves behind his son Wilmer L. 'Willie' Corn and girlfriend Dawn Watts of Decatur, daughters Camala D. Corn of Decatur, Cassandra Davis and husband Stanley of Decatur, and Cristi Shull and husband Thomas of Latham, grandchildren Elijah, Courtney, Josh, Kirsten, Jason, Alyson, and Corey, six great-grandchildren, and twelve step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and granddaughter Danielle.
