Charles Dean "Dean" Burdick's Obituary
Arizona – Charles Dean “Dean” Burdick, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
Dean was born April 15, 1928, in Decatur, IL, the son of Clarence and Susie (Brown) Burdick. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Dean worked as an operations manager at A.E. Staley/Tate & Lyle before retiring. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #1064 (now Stephen Decatur Lodge) and an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Dean married Corrine Ruth Rahn on December 31, 1950 in Decatur and she preceded him in death on June 1, 2015.
Dean is survived by his son, Gary and wife Deborah Burdick of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren: Kelli Burdick of Parker, CO, Shelby Burdick of Atlanta, GA, Colby Burdick of Phoenix, AZ and his constant companion – his Shih Tzu, Macy.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife, and two sisters.
The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 10 to 11 am at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Private burial with military rites will take place in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur, IL and/or Saviour Hospice of Phoenix, AZ.
