Charles David Denney's Obituary
Charles David Denney, 88 of Cleburne Texas, formally of Decatur, IL, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 7:00pm at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Cleburne, Texas.
Charles (Pete) was born on June 14, 1929 in Bement, Illinois, to the parents of Joseph and Ethel Denney. After graduating from Lincoln High School, Pete worked at several jobs before joining the United States Army and serving in Korea. After he returned, he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company as a machinist as well as built and sold houses on the weekends. He and his wife Betty moved to Texas to retire, living in Austin, Waco, Greenville, and Cleburne enjoying the retired life.
He leaves behind his daughter, Joyce (Jim) Morgan, of Ft. Worth, TX, granddaughter Carrie (Kevin) Miller, two great granddaughters Ashley and Avery of Flowermound, TX, and sisters Emily and Mary both of Lincoln, IL.
Pete is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Betty, daughter Judy, and two sisters, Josephine and Margorie.
Services to celebrate Charles’ life will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Graceland / Fairlawn Funeral Home with the visitation one-hour prior. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Decatur Conference Center.
