Charles F. Heger's Obituary
DECATUR- Charles F. Heger, 75 of Decatur, passed away at 8:29 am Friday, January 16, 2009 at McKinley Court.
Services to celebrate Charles life will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 22, 2009 in the Chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Lyle Artman and Pastor Mike Tapscott. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The Macon County Honor Guard will provide military rites. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Charles was born on July 20, 1933 in Decatur the son of Jerome Joseph and Alberta (Meador) Heger. He served in the Peace Corps for ten years stationed in South Africa. Charles retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked in maintenance. Charles enjoyed being with his family and watching wrestling and car racing on television. He married Beverly (McLemore) Botts on April 3, 2003 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife Beverly of Decatur, sisters: Theresa Couch and her husband Donald of Decatur and Rita Fleckenstein and husband Herb of New Jersey, brother: Robert Heger and his wife Annette of Romeoville and many nieces and nephews and his cats: C.C. and Mac.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
