Charles M. "Chuck" Irwin's Obituary
DECATUR - Charles M. “Chuck” Irwin, 69, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Charles was born on January 20, 1955, in Springfield, IL, a son of George E. and Dora M. (DeSalle) Irwin. He attended Little Flower Catholic School and Southeast High School. Charles worked at GSI for a few years before going to work as a pharmacy tech with his good friend Dale at Dale’s Southlake Pharmacy for many years retiring in 2021. He married Denise M. Burris on November 20, 1976, in Springfield, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Denise; sons: Eddie (Sarah) Irwin and Ben (Ashley) Irwin; daughter, Selena M. (Jason) Stanberry; grandchildren: Collin & Kiera Irwin and Madyson & Isabel Irwin; brother, John Irwin and sister, Cathy Marshall; special niece Tara as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his faithful companion Daisy.
Charles had a passion for motorcycles and woodworking, pursuits that brought him joy throughout his life.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother George and sister Bev.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024, from 2pm until the service time of 3pm at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date.
