Charles (Chuck) E. Mowry, Jr., 60, of Blue Mound, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur.
Chuck was born January 14, 1954 in Whittier, California, the son of Charles E. Mowry, Sr. and Margaret (Liming) Mowry. He married Karen McIntyre on December 9, 1994. Chuck grew up in Maroa, Illinois and became a union millwright for ADM. He retired in 2011 due to illness.
Chuck was an accomplished pool player and twice went to Las Vegas with his pool team. Chuck enjoyed life and the company of good friends; he loved fishing with his friend Ray, playing guitar and singing with his friend Rick, and shooting skeet and trap with his friend John. Chuck also enjoyed gardening, hunting, bird watching and spending time with friends and family at the lake lot in Taylorville. He looked forward to every visit from his daughters and grandchildren and cherished those times.
Chuck battled his illness with the loving support of his devoted wife Karen, family members, friends and the excellent staff at Imboden Creek Living Center. He will be fondly remembered by all. Special thanks to Chuck’s friend, Steve, for his prayers and guidance for Chuck to be spiritually saved and baptized before his passing.
