Charles L. Reynolds' Obituary
Decatur- Charles Lyle Reynolds, 88, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Aspen Ridge Care Center.
Charles was born on October 31, 1923 in Blue Mound the son of Siggle and Cressie (Amber) Reynolds.
He married Alice Nixon. They had four children, Robert (Carolyn) Reynolds of Decatur; Benny (Janet) Reynolds of Boody; Vivian (Rick) Willis of Moses Lake, WA; and Mark A. Reynolds.
In 1969, he married Judith A. Bundy. They had three children, Kevin (Sharon) Reynolds; Christina (TJ) Cobren; and Christopher Reynolds all of Decatur.
He leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Charm) of Decatur; sisters, Eileen Gharrett; Betty (Clyde) Guffey; Charlotte (Ray) Pickett; Carol (Jim) Camp; Judy (Jim) Switzer; sisters-in-law, Mary of Mississippi; Wilda of Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother who died in infancy and twin brothers, Keith and Kenneth, and his son, Mark.
He served in the Army in WWII and was injured in Italy. He received a Purple Heart and other medals. He drove for Sunshine Dairy and Sunshine Biscuit Company, Decatur City Lines. He retired from School District 61 in 1986. He worked for Decatur Park District for over 39 years.
He loved camping and fishing. He also loved Basset Hounds and has one on the back of his tombstone.
Graveside services to celebrate Charles' life will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Guardian A ngel Basset Rescue, P. O. Box 288, Dwight, IL 60420 or donor's choice.
