Charles E. Seeley's Obituary
Decatur – Charles E. Seeley, Jr., 93, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Mason Point, Sullivan.
Charles was born February 16, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Charles E. and Katherine (Woehr) Seeley, Sr., and was raised in Anamosa, IA. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and worked for Parke Warehouses, Inc. of Decatur, IL for 40 years retiring in 1985. Additional activities included singing with Decatur Chordsmen, service with South Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department and member of American Legion Post #105.
Charles served God in several local Baptist Church ministries such as Homebound Ministries, Lay Renewals, and singing gospel music. He currently was a member of Faith Baptist Church of South Shores in Decatur. Charles married F. Carole Meisenheimer on February 22, 2000 in Clarksville, TN.
He is survived by his wife, F. Carole Seeley of Decatur; daughter, Kathy Sue Dunn; son, Michael Lee Seeley; 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and first wife of 44 years, Lorene (Bush) Seeley.
Graveside services with military rites will be 10 am, Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Macon County Honor Guard or Baptist Children’s Home & Family Services or Faith Baptist Church.
