Decatur-Charles R. Wilber, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 2 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Palm Terrace in Mattoon.
Services to celebrate Charles' life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. and a Masonic Service starting at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Charles was born October 19, 1919 in Brownstown, Illinois, the son of Gilbert and Maggie (Rine) Wilber. Charles retired from the A.E Staley Company after 42 years of service. He married Alma N. Johnson August 9, 1940 in Decatur. She preceded him in death March 26, 2009.
He leaves behind his sons; Larry Wilber and wife Connie of Decatur, Lonnie D. Wilber and wife Gloria of Decatur, and David Wilber and wife Karen of Macon, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
