Charles Wesleyan Williams Jr., 80, passed away on August 22, 2022 in Mattoon, IL.
Charles was born to Charles Wesleyan Sr. And Grace Williams on February 16, 1942 in Decatur, IL. He spent 51 years with the love of his life, Delores C. (Stevens) Williams. Charles was a member of the St. Peter’s AME Church. Charles loved to fish. He was a collector of antiques. He especially liked antique knives, guns, jewelry and pocket watches.
Charles is survived by his wife, Delores Williams; sons, Kenneth (Leona) Dean Williams, Stuart Lee Hood; daughter, Stephanie (Carsee) Marie Williams; sisters-in-law, Susan Taylor, Vickie Stevens-Danyus; grandchildren, Breana (Anthony) Session, Isaiah Davis, Dominique, Thea Grace, Kameron Williams, Britney Williams; daughter-in-law, Misty Williams, 7 great grandchildren; good friends, Ron (Kitty) Ward, Roger Warfield, Joyce (Larry) Harvey, Sister Mary Jo Copeland, French (Ron) Wilson and many extended family and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and son, Charles “Wes” Wesleyan Williams III.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center for their excellent care.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a visitation an hour prior at the Saint Peters AME Church, 515 South Church Street, Decatur, IL 62522.
