Charlotte was born April 10, 1925 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of Oscar J. and Minnie (Kunard) Lamb. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and Cubs fan. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, doll collecting, reading mystery books, playing bingo and reading her bible daily. She married Warren E. West January 21, 1950 in Decatur. They celebrated forty-five years of marriage. He preceded her in death November 14, 1995.
She leaves behind her son; Warren E. West, Jr., of Mt. Zion, daughter; Robin L. Jiles and husband James of Mt. Zion, granddaughter; Amanda K. Hopwood of Springfield, sisters-in-law; Lorraine West, Mary Jane West, and Mary Townsend, two nephews, and three nieces.
She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, brother; Kenneth J. Lamb, half brother; Howard Shaw, brothers-in-law; Harold West, Joe West, Melvin West and Don Townsend, sisters-in-law; Flo Wattles and Norma West, and nephew; Dan West.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rucker and Nancy Tillman, friends at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and all of the nurses, staff, and friends at Heartland.
Even with a sometimes forgetful mind and not the best of hearing Charlotte never complained and was a friend to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed. I know she'll be glad to be reunited with the gang and enjoying a game of pinochle.
