Cheryl Sue Triplett's Obituary
Cheryl S. Triplett, 72, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1954, in Springfield, Illinois, to Delmar Blakeman and Nancy (and Don) Seiber.
On May 24, 1980, Cheryl married the love of her life, Jim A. Triplett JR. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering commitment. Cheryl was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished sister and friend. Her presence brought warmth and strength to those around her, and she will be deeply missed.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Jim A. Triplett JR; her siblings: Kevin Blakeman (Pam), Jerry Blakeman (Tam), Joy Tansky (Charlie), and Brett Seiber (Theresa); and her special lifelong friend, Linda Harmon (Tim).
She was a proud and devoted mother to Stacey Chamberlain (Cory) of Chatham, Andrea Triplett of Warrensburg, Jim Triplett III (Katie) of Firth, Idaho, and Courtney Amenda (Mark) of Blue Mound.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren: Ashton, Caden, Abby, Dani, Jaxon, Caleb, Brodie, Carter, Attison, Aiden, Parker, Brooklyn, Javen, Mason, Avery, and Jacob. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her love will remain with them always.
Cheryl dedicated many years of service to Decatur Public School District #61, where she touched countless lives through her kindness, dedication, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delmar Blakeman; her mother, Nancy Seiber; and her stepfather, Don Seiber.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, IL.
