Chris Kefalas' Obituary
Chris Kefalas, 90, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Chris was born on June 10, 1927 in Granite City, IL the son of Vasil and Maria (Kampege) Kefalas. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He married Angela Lafakis in East St. Louis, IL on April 24, 1960. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2016.
He is survived by his sons, William Kefalas (Gail) of Decatur; Dr. John Kefalas (Mary Jane) of Decatur; daughter, Mary Minter (Matthew) of Glen Ellyn; seven grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, and one sister.
Funeral service to celebrate Chris’s life will be 10 AM Friday September, 1, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday in the funeral home with a Trisagion Service at 7 PM. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
