Christine M. Waller's Obituary
Decatur-Christine M. Waller, 88, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate her life will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DMH Hospice. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Christine was born January 1, 1923 in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Thomas Bruce and Maude (Robinson) Page. The family eventually settled in Glasgow, Kentucky. She married John W. Waller December 24, 1943 in Bowling Green Kentucky. He preceded her in death June 9, 2005. They moved to Decatur, Illinois following the end of W.W. II. For several years Christine worked in a garment factory. Later on, she went to beauty school and became a beautician. She was previously employed at Art's Beauty Salon, The Primp Shoppe, and Roberta's. She was a devout Christian and member of Life Foursquare Church.
She leaves behind her daughter, Carolyn Fabian of Forsyth, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved 'granddog' Bella.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, brothers, Leonard, Charles, and Darrell, and sister, Evelyn.
To the nurses, CNA's, and staff at McKinley Court and Decatur Memorial Hospital thank you for all of your TLC. A special thanks to DMH Hospice, you were a true blessing to the very end.
