Clara Mae Berry's Obituary
Clara Mae Berry, 68, of Decatur, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family.
Clara was born March 12, 1947 in Lancaster, Ohio, to birth mother, Rosella McCartney and adoptive parents, William Francis and Garnet Pearl (Ricketts) McCartney. She married Phillip W. Berry on December 24, 1977 in Decatur. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Phillip W. Berry; her three daughters, Angella (William “Bud”) Mitchell of Morris, IL, Rhonda (Glenn) Fuller of Independence, MS, Kimberly (Scott) Wills of Coal City, IL; her six grandchildren, William Mitchell, Brianne Wills, Colton Mitchell, Brett Wills, Jean Michel Renault, McKinnley Fuller; her brother, Charles “Charlie” F. Rager, Jr. of Logan, OH; her two sisters, Anna “Annie” Bee of Sugar grove, OH and Maryann Herron of Logan, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William “Jack” McCartney and Eddie McCartney.
Services to celebrate the life of Clara Mae Berry will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.
The family would like to thank Decatur Memorial Hospital 4th & 5th floor nurses, Davita Dialysis, Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice Care and Kathy McDaniel and Lola Love for their excellent care and friendship to Clara and our family.
